Xicoco Shamanic Arts Introduces Inland Empire?s Only Floatation Tank

(PRWEB) July 29, 2005

?Although the tank is wonderful for relaxation and pain relief,? explains holistic healer and Xicoco staff member Etana Sack, ?the true potential of this tool is that the floater can use it to reprogram his or her own consciousness.? In practical terms, she says, this means that people can use the tank to quickly work out problems, eliminate undesirable habits such as overeating or smoking, program themselves for peak performance, or even enter higher states of consciousness.

Prototypes of the Samadhi flotation tank were developed in the 1950s by Dr. John Lilly in order to learn what the mind does in the absence of sensory stimulation. The answer: it creates. It also turned out that this highly creative mode can be closely controlled by tank users to recondition their nervous systems and thus consciously change their relationship with reality. ?Whereas Inland Empire residents used to have to drive to Los Angeles to access this powerful tool for self-transformation and self-empowerment, they now have it in their own backyard,? notes Ph.D. philosopher and Xicoco associate Eric N. Peterson.

Xicoco Shamanic Arts is an arm of the 501(c)(4) educational, non-profit Tequihua Foundation. Xicoco, located at 18791 Van Buren Blvd in Woodcrest, Riverside, hosts holistic healing, classes such as Tai Chi and Belly Dance, and Toltec shamanic storytelling and rituals. The rituals do not reproduce the external aspects of old Toltec ceremonies, but instead invoke the feelings and atmosphere of those ceremonies using modern cultural forms and technologies.

The spiritual fire behind Xicoco is Koyote, a Central American Shaman with training in a variety of esoteric traditions. Sporting a black, wide brimmed hat and earpiece microphone, he stands in the kitchen grazing the cut fruit and snack mix before one of the regular Thursday night Shamanic Storytelling sessions. Asked about the importance of Xicoco?s mission, his face grows serious and slightly fierce: ?Very few do what we are doing.? When asked about the tank, he softens: ?The Samadhi tank is just a tool, but it is a powerful one.?
